Innovative English Language

a. Develop programs, courses, & materials reflecting the needs & expectations of 21st-century EFL teaching & learning;
b. Provide specialized English language instruction to help students acquire the skills necessary to achieve their goals;
c. Prepare & enable all learners with the confidence, capacity, & desire to learn & use English beyond the classroom;
d. Prepare & equip learners with opportunities & 21st-century skills necessary for success locally & globally;
e. Guide learners in their cultural adjustment within a professional, respectful, & supportive environment;
f. Create, foster, & affirm diverse, independent, collaborative, creative, & inclusive EFL environments;
g. Provide exceptional, authentic, & meaningful EFL-supported curriculum & assessment;
h. Emphasize & facilitate the growth of critical thinking skills for CELS EFL students;

i. Foster cultural competence for student success in local & global cultural settings;
j. Establish a foundation for EFL teaching & learning rooted in best practices;
k. Promote the consistent use of English both inside & outside the classroom;
l. Determine & monitor level progression & completion of coursework;
m. Encourage & promote independent learning outside the classroom;
n. Integrate real-world EFL instruction, assessment, & policy;
o. Remove barriers to linguistic access & equity;
p. Foster cultural connections & awareness.

a. Undertake research for the continued development of our curriculum & instruction to meet the ever-changing learner needs;
b. Support the TESOL profession & contribute to knowledge in the field by working with committed, professional faculty;
c. Support the LCIC’s various international initiatives with English language training & cultural expertise;
d. Establish & nurture a culture of collaboration, inclusion, support, growth, & development;
e. Serve as a campus & community resource for English language teaching related issues;
f. Uphold the ethical & academic standards of LCIC & the English language teaching profession;
g. Promote & sustain a safe, caring, & culturally sensitive environment;
h. Provide relevant, ongoing training & professional development.
