Hello! My name is Jo, and I’m one of the teachers at CELS. I am TESOL and TEFL certified. I’m also a licensed educator and graduated from Cebu Normal University, a leading university in teacher education.
I have taught English to online and offline students of all levels and age groups for over eight years. I have had the opportunity to teach a culturally diverse class. I have handled various lessons, from Basic Grammar and Conversation to specialized lessons such as Business English, Pronunciation, and Test Preparation for TOEIC and EIKIN.
As a multilingual non-native speaker, I understand the process of learning another language, and I believe it’s different for each learner, too. I adjust my teaching style according to my students’ learning needs and preferences to provide quality lessons.
Living in the tropics, I enjoy going to the beach when possible. Sometimes, I just stay at home and binge-watch my favorite series. I also love doing karaoke and dancing with my friends. So, if you’re looking forward to singing English songs, I’m totally up for that!
