“Teaching chose me.” This profession is my calling. I‘ve tried to take the other road, but I always return whenever I drift away. What is meant for you will always find its way. It has made me realize how great it is to be a teacher.
For the past four years, teaching has helped me understand that the role of an educator is not only imparting knowledge but also inspiring learners and transforming lives. It warms my heart to think I could touch the lives of my students. Of course, it is not always cupcakes and rainbows. There are days when I question whether teaching is really for me. But then again, it calls me.
I have taught in private and public schools, which has helped me hone my skills and understand that every learner has a different learning style. I can integrate various activities to cater to the learner’s needs. I have taught Filipino and Social Science subjects before. Teaching another language crossed my mind. So, I had my first EFL teaching experience, and I found it challenging.
To be part of LCIC is an honor and privilege; some great people also help you to have a fantastic LCIC journey. I’ll keep on developing my career culturally and professionally. Being culturally aware and sensitive to foreign students is a way to view what teaching techniques should be used. For my professional growth, I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Filipino Language. With this, I am glad to contribute my language teaching skills, especially the Filipino language, to our international students.
Talking about “Me Time,” I love mountains and beaches. I’d love to go hiking and camping; I’m a member of the growing TTM mountaineers. On the beach side, oh well! I love free diving, and I’m now enrolling in a swimming and diving school. Chill and party night out is a go, too. Work-life balance it is.
Salamat! Magkita-kita tayo sa klase!
