It takes time to appreciate the beauty of teaching & it doesnโt happen overnight. My experience has been similar because I was a timid kid, so I never considered becoming a teacher. But when I started teaching, I began to see its beauty & continued to immerse myself in it more.
Teaching has changed me both professionally and personally. It turned me from timid to social, which truly surprised me. I honed my teaching skills in a local private school for four years, during which I came to understand the weight and responsibility of affecting positive change in the lives of learners. The chance to guide those beautiful individuals was an honor and a privilege.
I’m beginning my EFL journey here at Lapu-Lapu Cebu International College, which is a new challenge for me. I have encountered diversity in student skill sets, but teaching in a classroom with various cultural backgrounds opened my eyes to a different way of doing things. I’m happy to use it as an opportunity to develop holistically.
When I feel like resting, particularly on weekends or holidays, I simply drive my motorcycle to the mountains and beaches to relieve stress. I treat myself to my favorite fast-food restaurants and Korean ramyeon on busy days. So, if you are interested in tourist spots in Cebu or Filipino Food, I can help you with that!
See you in the classroom!
